Does Apple Cider Vinegar Help Lower Blood Pressure?

Apple cider vinegar has long been famed for helping many health problems as well as promoting good health. The theory that apple cider vinegar improves blood pressure is due to two factors:

  1. Apple cider vinegar's potassium content. Potassium helps lessen sodium's negative effects on blood pressure.
  2. The idea that apple cider vinegar has potential weight-lowering properties.

Overeating Could Possibly Reduce Your Lifespan and Quality of Life

Do you like to eat? I sure do. It is one of my favorite pass times and one of the ways I comfort myself. I guess we learn this from infants. How comforting it must have been to get fed by mommy, as I have retained this comforting method all my life now. Most of us do.

You can eat too much, which we all have done as well. Eating less might help you lead a longer, healthier life even if you are not obese. Over eating is also painful. I actually am not one guilty of this routinely.
New research suggests restricting calories by 12% in healthy non-obese individuals over a two year span significantly lowers markers of chronic inflammation. Participants of this study maintained adequate nutrient intake within the prescribed lower caloric intake. They were given a multi-nutrient supplement, a calcium supplement and told to maintain adequate protein intake. Results were published in the journal Aging.

Over the past 85 years studies in animals and simple model organisms support the theory that calorie restriction can increase lifespan by reducing inflammation and other serious disease risk factors. The studies brought mixed results about whether calorie restriction has a negative or no effect on cell-mediate immune responses.
The dangers of inflammation has been studied extensively. Age-related diseases like cancer, heart disease and dementia have all been linked to chronic inflammation in the body. Researchers say because of the multiple risks from chronic inflammation, a calorie restricted diet within the context of a nutrient rich diet plan may be one of the most powerful non-genetic interventions to slow the aging process, increase health span and the quality of our lives.

Researchers also say even smaller calorie reductions might help counter inflammation. So....next time you overeat at any meal, holiday times, after church feast or not, remember you are most likely increasing inflammation and shortening your lifespan. source: Tufts Health Newsletters
