The study observed people with laryngopharyngeal reflux In this condition the stomach acids back up into the throat, and instead of getting heartburn as with gastro esophageal reflux a person has symptoms of:
  • hoarseness
  • chronic sore throat
  • persistent coughing
  • excessive throat clearing
  • a feeling of a lump in the throat
The study is not conclusive of course, it only suggests maintaining a vegetarian diet "might" help with laryngopharyngeal reflux and is certainly worth trying if you are one plagued with this condition.

Whether you are young or old "regular intense exercise" may help keep your brain healthy. A study assigned 27 sedentary people to high-intensity interval training. Half were 18 to 30 years old and the half were 65 to 80. They rode stationary bikes, and walked on a treadmill. After 12 weeks of study the researchers felt results could mean declines in Alzheimer's disease when people exercised regularly and also concluded other types of exercise besides walking and bike riding could aid brain health and ward off brain diseases. As with other studies, this one does not say absolutely for sure regular exercise is a valid brain health remedy. It is only one more study that suggests to keep moving is a better brain health remedy than living a life without "intentional" movement.

Scientists who study reasons for belly fat think the time you spend in a chair, on the sofa, or in a car may effect the size of your belly. This study revealed the more time spent in a sitting position helped to increase inches of fat in the belly region. This study on its own does not prove sitting more increases the size of your belly. It does give us one more reason to get out of the seat, on our feet and in motion. Too much belly fat is linked to all sorts of life threatening diseases. If we can keep some of it off by a simple "movement remedy," it is certainly well worth it.
